| Saturday March 20 19:03:13 2021 [3545] The Blue Parrot (1953) |
| Maureen (Jacqueline Hill) is working undercover for the police. Near the end of the movie the villain forces her into a labyrinth of tunnels beneath his bar. We next see her at around the one hour mark, bound hand and foot and silenced with a loosely tied, white OTM gag. The villain taunts her before he leaves and we get the only good shot of her gagged face. Unfortunately for the villain, the police have entered the tunnels searching for him. Unable to escape, he sneaks back to the room where he stashed his captive. This would have been a great opportunity for Maureen to have some closeup reaction shots or try to attract the attention of the searchers. However we only see the side of her face in some wide shots. With the police outside the villain ungags her so he can prove he has a hostage. Then there is a brief handgag scene with a good close up of her face, with her mouth covered and a pistol pressed to her head. There is also some bondage dialogue at the end. The police leave the hero to untie the girl. He unbinds her ankles but leaves her wrists tied. “Surely you don’t think I’m the sort of guy that would take advantage of a girl who’s all tied up and helpless?” he quips. She seems disappointed and says no she doesn’t think he’s the kind. “Don’t be crazy” he says. Kissing her while she is still tied. She seems angry and says, “Will you please untie my hands” but when she is free she immediately smiles and kisses him. |
