There's some evocative eye acting. She's is two scenes close together. The first scene begins at 58:41 and ends at 59:57. The mad scientist has her attached to a pulsating heart that's submerged is some clear goo. She's gagged for the entire scene. The second scene which comes close at hand, has a detective pointing his gun at the nut case and Fay is seen mostly from the rear. The scene begins at 1:00:13 and ends at 1:00:54. The detective has the drop on the mad scientist and reaches over and appears to loosen the back of the gag. Cut to the bad guy and when Fay is back the gag is gone! Poof! |

By the time she tells her fiancee for the fifth time, "Oh, Ted, please take me away from here!" you want to gag her yourself. Or at least shoot the scriptwriter. Fortunately we're obliged. I mean the heroine gets bound to a pole with her wrists behind her back and detective-gagged with a white cloth, not the scriptwriter gets shot (anyway, I never heard he got shot). Action starts around the 55:50 mark and continues for about three minutes. We get several nice close-ups of Vera's gagged face as she reacts to the villain whipping an ape into a frenzy, the better to tear the bound heroine to pieces. Fortunately, the bad guy gets his comeuppance. |

Sheriff Pat Garrett captures the thirsting Holliday and then hears Rio's mmmphing and unties her. Rio then pulls the gag from her mouth and leaves it hanging around her neck. The two men comment about Billy "paying off poetic" leaving her in front of the pool with the rawhide which will eventually dry and leave her hanging by her wrists. The sheriff surmises that Billy is really in love with Rio (much to Rio's surprise) and decides to use her as bait. She's then retied and gagged in a similar position to trap Billy. During the night Billy does return and walks up to the trussed damsel, tugs on her gag and comments to himself, "Hmm, I thought I tied it tighter than that." He pulls out the cloth, but gets jumped by the pistol toting Garrett. Action starts around the 1:10: mark and goes to about 1:15:00, give or take |
