Daily Motion
Question for you all.

There are a number of scenes posted on Daily Motion that I would like to get but for the life of me, I cant figure out how to download them. The RealPlayer auto-thing doesnt work and none of the websites Ive looked at work any longer.

Does anybody know the trick?

I've been having similar problems over the past few months.

The YouTube and Dailymotion videos dwonload using the RealPlayer 'Download this video' function, but don't play.

And, to further aggravate things, when I try to delete them, they won't delete because they are being used by 'another program or application'. This happens even after a total system shutdown with both power and ethernet cords disconnected.

I have a solution for this, but you have to use Firefox as your browser, and it can be a bit fiddly for those who aren't used to methods like this. Also, again, I strongly suggest for everyone to ditch their RealPlayers and Quicktime in favour of MPC player with plugins.

Firstly, go to this site:

http://clipnabber.com/

Copy and paste your Dailymotion link where it asks you to, and it should request another link which is the source code for the video's page. Go back to the video page, and make sure it's playing.

In Firefox's options, go to View > Page Source. What you'll see is a huge pile of text in a new window, which constitutes the source code for that page. copy all that text using Ctrl+A, and paste it into Clipnabber.

It should now give you the option to save the video as either an FLV file, or a higher-quality MP4. Obviously go for the MP4. Just left-click, give it a name, and you're good to go.

If anyone has further problems with this, don't hesitate to ask!
Sam
