Record number: 23228 Title: Annihilation (2018) Medium: Movie Actress: Natalie Portman, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Tessa Thompson Description: Past the halfway point of the movie, Anya (Gina Rodriguez) knocks Lena (Natalie Portman) unconscious with the butt of a gun. Lena wakes up tied to a chair, wrists bound to the arm rests, ankles tied to the legs, and gagged over the mouth with a heavy cloth. On both sides are two other captives, Dr. Ventress (Jennifer Jason Leigh) and Josie (Tessa Thompson), tied and gagged the same. The women struggle while Anya questions her sanity, occasionally threatening to shoot them. There is a lot of struggling and gag talk as the captives try to talk Anya down. Eventually the scene changes drastically when a bear who sounds like their dead friend and a face without skin walks in. During this moment, there are great close ups of the womens' crying faces as they try not to scream in terror. Great scene, but the bear is very creepy. Not. Occurs at 1hr 10-17mins of the Netflix release without commercials.
