| This one's not in the Database. The Main Attraction (1962) Rarely screened film starring Nancy Kwan as the daughter of a family that operates a traveling circus. 40 minutes into the movie she performs her latest trick. She has manacles attached to her wrists, then is lifted up by a bunch of guys and placed atop a large horizontal metal bar. Her ankles are crossed and chained to the bar, then her wrist manacles are attached to long chains which are stretched out and attached to stakes in the ground. The trick is that a large horse will jump over her. The first time the horse hesitates and backs away. The second time the horse makes the jump. No gag, of course. The scene lasts a little over a minute and includes shots of Nancy from above and from the side and also has closeups of her wrists and ankles being chained. Nice scene for Nancy who was 23 at the time and four years away from her brief scene in Lt. Robin Crusoe, U.S.N.. If the scene itself isn't strange enough, even stranger is that fact that the romantic lead is played by Pat Boone! |
