| Not the bondageless Vin Diesel burning-rubber epic from a few years back, but the movie they stole that title from-a rather neat yarn from 1954 starring the fetching young Dorothy Malone as a sports-car enthusiast who falls into the clutches of John Ireland (who also co-directed), on the lam from what's possibly a bum hit-and-run rap. She gets her hands tied to a steering wheel about 20 minutes in, and isn't shy about letting Ireland know she doesn't appreciate it. It's in the database.
I bring it up because anyone with a Wal-Mart Supercenter close by may want to stop in and hunt around for a big bin of DVDs selling for the man-you-can't-pirate-'em-cheaper-than-that price of (drum roll followd by a rim shot, please) 88 cents! Yes, I had to look twice to make sure I read it right, too. This was the only title I saw in there that was of immediate interest; there could be more. One caveat: KEEP YOUR RECEIPT and check the disc out by playing it as soon as you can. I had to return mine for replacement; the second one was perfect. Well, for less than a buck, you can't expect everything... |
