Friday January 27 20:27:13 2006 Review of "Imposture" |
In the French movie "Imposture", Laetitia Chardonnet
plays a young writer whos first novel is stolen by an untalented professor. He abducts her, and keeps her in the basement of a country estate. She is held prisoner for most of the movie. There is a chloroform scene at the abduction. She is handcuffed (behind the back mostly, although there's a very brief shot of her being put to bed with one wrist cuffed to one ankle) for about 30% of her period of imprisonment. For most of the remainder of her imprisonment, the only restraint is a long heavy chain around one ankle, attached to a very substantial plumbing pipe. While she is handcuffed, there are two fairly good tape-gaggings (the second better than the first) and two scenes in which her legs are bound with a LOT of packing tape. She is knocked out by an injection three times (the injection is shown only twice). There's a scene where she must drink water from a pail while her hands are cuffed behind her. She has two nude scenes, and in one of them she's given a sponge bath by the captor while she's unconcious. Naturally, she eventually convinces her captor to leave her unrestrained, and she escapes (Zut alors!). |
