| Loring plays the doctor of a brilliant scientist. Thrush is searching for a device invented by her father. About 18 minutes in, she is captured, and apparently has her hands tied behind her back, although it is difficult to tell. When the villainess tells her henchmen "somebody shut her up," no one gags her. Later, they try to torture Solo to tell them where the device is. He won't talk, so the villainess has them fetch Loring. Around 27 minutes, three henchmen rip off her dress, revealing a very short slip, and carry her squirming to a circular table where she is chained down in a spread eagle position. The main villain ties a wet leather strap around her neck. A heat lamp is turned on over her, so it will tighten the straps and strangle her if she doesn't die from the heat first. All a way to force Solo to talk. There is much screaming and "don't tell them Mr. Solo" as well as a lot of squirming and several different camera angles.Of course, he can't bear to see her torture and caves. Later, around 32 minutes, Loring is sitting in a chair, tied hands and front and ankles tied and detective gagged. Her father is in a similar situation, while Solo is unconscious on the floor. The villain uses the device, which puts people in suspended animation, on all of them, and their bodies are dumped into a stream beneath the floor of the room they are in (good shot of Loring being carried bound and gagged). Their bodies are rescued from a canal off screen, and the next scene they show up they are in a hospital room. |
