| I offer this update to give more details on timings, Naomie Harris's restraints, outfit and release, Gong Li's (absent) scene, and the Tags. If someone has the Director's Cut/ 'Unrated Director's Cut' of this film, it would be helpful to add whether Gong Li's scene is present there. Description: At about an hour and 27 minutes into the edited version of this film broadcast on the Oxygen cable network (which runs 2 1/2 hours with commercials - at 1hr 18' in the Region 2 DVD version), Tubbs's (Jamie Foxx) live-in girlfriend, Trudy Joplin (Harris), approaches her front door at night. We hear, but don't see, her heels on the path. She is grabbed by two thugs, struggles valiantly, but is then knocked out with a cosh. She is wearing a long, lightweight, floral-print top. She is whisked away to a double-wide trailer, where (at 1hr 20', DVD) she's shown roped to a chair (fixed to the floor) at the wrists and ankles. We see her strappy high heels now. Her face shows signs of the struggle. A heavy comes from behind, and blindfolds her with a length of dirty bandage. She struggles and gasps, to no avail. An 'exploding necklace', connected to a detonator and a mobile phone, is strapped around her neck. Her captors transmit a cell-phone video of her sitting with a tiny television set in her lap. It is broadcasting the news, to confirm to Tubbs and Sonny Crockett (Colin Farrell) that they have her at that moment. A goon instructs her to say hello, but she tries to give information about her location, and she is struck with the phone. Her predicament is shown briefly at 1hr 24' (DVD), including a big close-up of her quivering face, and again as our heroes move in at 1hr 29'. She is now barefoot, and is released at 1hr 32', the blindfold being raised to her forehead, where it stays until 1hr 34'. There is a blink-and-you-miss-it close-up of one bare foot and the shoes. Tubbs has to restrain her from lashing out at a lifeless captor, carrying her to the door. During the climatic battle scene near the end of the movie (1hr 52', DVD), drug 'queenpin' Isabella (Li) is hustled into a car by Sonny and taken to a safe house. She keeps resisting in the passenger seat, and so Sonny plasticuffs her wrists behind her back. There's lots of struggling while this is happening. He uncuffs her once they enter the safe house. (In the Oxygen, and R2 DVD edits (others too? The Unrated Director's Cut may be different), Sonny shoves her (with her hands free) into the car, slams the door, and drives off. The in-car resistance and cuffing described above isn't shown. Instead, she is quiet and docile. Sonny escorts her into the safe house (1hr 54'), holding her hands behind her back, but she is not otherwise restrained, and she is calm. He releases her from his grip once they are inside the house. The resistance and cuffing is not in the R2 DVD Extras either.)
