Additional details on Chapter 15: After setting off the suffocating gas bomb, the two villains attempt to leave. But right at that moment, Congo Bill's friends show up and a shootout ensues, forcing the bad guys back inside. While the two factions exchange lead, more fumes accumulate in the room. Congo Bill warns the baddies that they had better get rid of the gas bomb or they too will die. One of them throws the gas bomb out the back door (why the villains don't try to retreat out the back door, I do not know). While the shootout continues, Congo Bill works his wrists out of the ropes. Just as he frees himself, both villains run out of ammo. Before they can reload, Congo Bill jumps them both and a standard movie serial fistfight ensues. While hero and villains duke it out, the damsel continues to struggle against her bonds. Congo Bill eventually coldcocks both baddies, after which he frees queen Lureen onscreen (like that rhyming triplet?). |

Additions and corrections: In the opening minutes, a beautiful, desperate woman (Christine McIntyre) barges into the offices of a private detective agency where she mistakes the janitor Stooges for private eyes. She states that she is being followed, and when a shadowy figure appears through the frosted glass of the office door, she screams and the Stooges go to investigate. Alone in the office, the woman panics and leaves her address in a note for the Stooges. She is so focused on writing the note that she fails to hear the approach from behind of a figure in black. A black-gloved hand handgags the woman and drags her away struggling and squealing (one of the best handgags of all time). The address on the note sends our heroes to a spooky mansion where they encounter the mad scientist. |
