Ugh. Accidentally submitted a duplicate entry to 25024.

New Medium Options (Scene Database) (moved from )
Hello administrators and moderators, I want to make the suggestion to remove the other option in medium and put web series, short film, theater play and music video when uploading a scene to the database, since this is a more direct way of classifying a DID scene, I hope it is taken into account please, greetings.

We could do that, but I'm not sure of the need. Out of the
20k+ entries, there are only 683 (at this time) that have
used the "Other" option for Medium. I worry sometimes
about offering too many options.

I will let some of the editors weigh if they feel like it.

My problem with this is that I agree it could be useful to classify entries with a more specific classification, there is no real definition of what any of them actually are.

It used to be easy to specify what was a movie, what was a tv show, and what was neither. Now we have material produced on all sorts of devices by both professionals and amateurs, which are not locked into any particular distribution method. I've seen web series re-edited into movies which are then broadcast on TV as a potential pilot (i.e., DB# 24762-Warigami).

There are shorts which become backdoor pilots, tv episodes expanded into movies, etc. etc. etc.

Without a real definition and set of standards which are agreed to by producers, I think we're better off just keeping the current set of choices (though I wouldn't object to losing the "TV Movie" category since it doesn't really matter whether the production was intended for broadcast or theaters).

Watched "Tea Hee" episode the other day on "Classic TV Channel", and found no scene nor Mary Young at the end credits. Was instead in 'The Maitland Affair". But surely a mistake yes, as I just stumbled upon another video (Archive.org) that's cohesive with the database and Imdb episodes details and cast.

Sorry for the mess.

Sorry for the mess.

No problem. It can be very difficult to get reliable information on some of these old shows.
